Robin van Persie to make Manchester United debut at Everton, says Sir Alex Ferguson, as Arsenal deal agreed

Sir Alex Ferguson is prepared to gamble on the match fitness of Robin van Persie by handing the £22 million forward his Manchester United debut against Everton at Goodison Park on Monday evening. Van Persie, who began the first stage of a medical in Manchester on Thursday afternoon, is expected to rubber-stamp his transfer from Arsenal on Friday after agreeing a four-year contract, with the option of a further 12 months, worth £200,000 a week at Old Trafford. And despite Van Persie being limited to less than 45 minutes of football this pre-season after missing Arsenal’s tour of the Far East, Ferguson has admitted that the 29 year-old is on course to face Everton should his medical be successfully negotiated on Friday. “Sometimes medicals take a little longer and it may carry on until Friday,” Ferguson said. “But I’m sure he [Van Persie] will be available for Monday’s game.” But having seen off competition from Manchester City and Juventus, as well as overcoming initial resistance from Arsenal, to sign Van Persie, Ferguson has admitted his delight at luring last season’s double Footballer of the Year and Premier League top goalscorer to Old Trafford. And the Scot believes that, with Van Persie alongside Javier Hernández, Wayne Rooney and youngster Danny Welbeck, United now possess their most potent strike force since the Treble-winning campaign of 1999. Ferguson said he was “delighted” with the Van Persie deal. “He’s not signed yet, but a fee has been agreed and hopefully the medical goes according to plan. “Rooney and Van Persie are two fantastic players and it’s great to have both of them. What it gives us is more strength and combinations up front. Source :- Telegraph

Fabrice Muamba retired from football

Fabrice Muamba retired from the game on Wednesday on medical advice following his on-field cardiac arrest in an FA Cup tie at Tottenham on March 17.He announce his 'devastation' at being forced to retire from football at 24 - but insisted he had been 'so lucky' to play at the top level in the first place.
Remarkably he made a stunning recovery and left hospital a month later. Muamba travelled to Belgium for a minor heart operation last week, and sought medical advice from a top cardiologist. It was then when he was told that a return to professional football would put too much strain on his heart. Muamba told Bolton's official website: 'Since suffering my heart attack and being discharged from hospital, I have remained utterly positive in the belief I could one day resume my playing career and play for Bolton Wanderers once again. 'As part of my on-going recovery, last week I travelled to Belgium to seek further medical advice from a leading cardiologist. 'But the news I received was obviously not what I had hoped it would be and it means I am now announcing my retirement from professional football. 'Football has been my life since I was a teenage boy and it has given me so many opportunities. 'Above all else, I love the game and count myself very lucky to have been able to play at the highest level. Source :- Dailymaikl

A great start for 2011/2012 Barclays Premier League, Manchester City. The Premier League champion beat Chelsea 3-2 at Villa Park and warn other's opponet that they are ready to retain their champion.
Roberto Mancini team failing behind in 1st half after Chelsea striker, Fernando Torres score in 40th minutes. But in the 2nd half, Manchester City player get the rhythm and Yaya Toure score their first goal on 53th minute. Carlos Tevez added after 6 minute later and Samir Nasri score at the box on 65th minute. Chelsea subs, Ryan Bertrand has score their consolation goal on 80th minute.
Great game for this champion but the league is still long. Unluckily for Chelsea after Branislav Ivanovic get the red card, they couldn't cope with Manchester City strikeforce. I think Manchester City red shirt is quite weird..
